Read about the latest protests in Bangladesh (student protest), the U.S.
of
A. (protests against hikes in fees), Kenya (teachers strike), France
(general strike) and Canada (strike at York Uni)
here<http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/police-attacks-bangladesh-and-canada-jan27th-strikes-france-and-kenya-student-protests-arizo>
.
Furthermore I am now also in touch with an activist (who founded a whole
school :) - see list of supporters) in Guatemala. He is inspired to unite
with us for the week of action.
*
WANTED: Groups to be listed as supporters!!*
Three or four days ago I began to approach groups asking them, if they
mind
being listed as a supporter for the "Reclaim your Education - Global Week
of
Action".
So far the list contains 16 groups from 9 countries:
http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/list-supporters-global-week-action
*Drop me a line or post a message inside the forum, if you want to see
"your" group name/logo listed as well.
**Logos on poster design*
**
I think it would really be a great idea to have (at least some of) the
logos
of the groups supporting the week of action printed onto the poster, which
can be used to mobilize around the world, so that every single person who
sees it, will realize how global the struggle is!
If anybody objects this suggestion and doesn't want to see any logos on
the
posters, then please drop me a line.
*Contacts within this network*
Please also communicate among each other and network. Unfortunately so far
only six people are willing to share their contacts with all of you:
-
anythingartscollective at gmail.com<others.......anythingartscollective at gmail.com>(RN
Wagner: Spoken Word Poet / Artist, who's involved deep with the social
justice crews crowds of St.John's, Newfoundland & Southern Ontario
[Canada])
- tao_of_tempest at yahoo.com (James R.: Ft. Worth, Texas [U.S. of A.])
- greenlady81 at yahoo.com (Lisa: Socialist Students Union, Kentucky [U.S.
of A.])
- lapollaconcebolla at hotmail.com (Zaragoza [Spain])
- uniurbinlotta at gmail.com (Andrea: Urbino [Italy])
- international.students.movement at gmail.com (Mo: Marburg [Germany])
Get in touch with each other. So if anybody else wants to be added to the
list, then just let me know and I will include your email address in the
next mail.
If anybody wants to co-ordinate protests in March during the meeting of EU
ministers, then post a message here:
http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/european-meeting-education-ministers-19-20032009
Same goes for co-ordinate protests during the Ministerial Conference on
the
Bologna process in Leuven in April (during the Global Week of Action!).
*Agenda proposal for the next "international chat-conference"*
