a 14 anni dal massacro di El Bosque, uno dei crimini di Stato meno indagati
degli ultimi anni avvenuto tre giorni dopo il massacro di El Charco, in
Gueriero, durante il governo di Ernesto Zedillo. Erano trascorsi sei mesi dalla
tragedia di Acteal, ed Alberto Albores Guillén era già il mandatario statale.</span></div>

alla seconda settimana mondiale per la liberazione di Santiz López e Patishtán
Gómez: "In Messico le prigioni non sono per i narcotrafficanti, ma per gli
indigeni che non hanno fatto niente di male, come Patishtán e Santiz
López". Il loro "reato" è stato "pensare che il Messico deve
essere per tutti i messicani, dove tutti lavorino e vivano tranquillamente,
senza sfruttare né essere sfruttati, godendo dei frutti che dà la terra",
in un paese "dove tutti possano ricevere un'educazione e assistenza per la
propria salute, dove non ci siano milionari né mendicanti, dove tutti si
interessino di tutti, come nelle comunità indigene".</span></div>

Bosque, governato dal consiglio municipale autonomo zapatista di San Juan de la
Libertad, i cui membri furono imprigionati. Ad Unión Progreso otto indigeni
furono assassinati, sei dei quali erano stati catturati vivi e poi giustiziati,
presumibilmente da truppe federali. Il numero delle vittime a Chavajeval,
almeno quattro, non si è mai saputo, perché non tutte erano basi di appoggio
zapatiste, morirono anche dei priisti ed i loro padroni non poterono alzare la
voce.</span></div>

pretesto delle autorità per quell'operativo fu un cruento assalto, all'alba,
sulla strada per El Bosque, compiuto dalla banda criminale della comunità Los
Plátanos, efficacemente addestrata come gruppo paramilitare, dedita alla
coltivazione e spaccio di marijuana con la protezione della polizia, come fu
documentato da <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">La Jornada</i>, e
ricorrente assalitrice nei mesi precedenti del vicino Unión Progreso. Dopo
l'assalto fuggirono in montagna circa 800 indigeni in condizioni
straordinariamente precarie. Inoltre, circa 200 persone di Los Plátanos erano
da due mesi rifugiate sulle aspre montagne della zona.</span></div>

Concordia e Pacificazione (Cocopa), denunciò la "schizofrenia" del
governo zedillista che parlava continuamente di pace e volontà di dialogo e
contemporaneamente realizzare un operativo "più grave di Acteal",
poiché vi avevano partecipato truppe dell'Esercito con mortai, bazooka ed armi
di grosso calibro. Da parte sua, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in quegli anni
dirigente nazionale del Partito della Rivoluzione Democratica, il giorno del
massacro dichiarò: "Niente giustifica la decisione del governo di ordinare
l'azione dell'Esercito" a El Bosque, Unión Progreso e Chavajeval.
L'incursione "è stata criminale ed irresponsabile", e con questo
Zedillo "ha disatteso il suo impegno di non usare la forza per rispondere
