Durarara while the main male character is pretty bland, Celty is incredibly deep, with a wide range of emotion and backstory. In AoT you have Mikasa showing more varied emotion then Erin (despite the fact she only uses like 2 expressions). You could then compare Ryuuko from kill la kill to Simon from Gurren laggan. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US>Not sure why... I assume it just goes with what's mentioned above, guy MC's have to be either calm and collected, or filled with manly gusto. If they start out weak/whiny the only character development they're allowed is to fill one of those roles later. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=msonormal1><span lang=EN-US>Then if you're looking for side character females who aren't well written you don't have to look very hard though. You'd have a dramatically easier time finding badly written ones.
