HOW CAN I BE A GLOBAL CITIZEN WHILE PRESERVING MY IDENTITY?
Medieval Media conferences aim to diffuse a radical-critic-constructive 
approach towards new technologies, based on a democratic way of 
describing this so called Digital Era.
The adjective medieval wants to underline the current condition of 
Internet and new media development, stuck in a halfway point between the 
asymmetrical communication and the shared one.
The Net organization is nowadays set as a Medieval hierarchy, a feudal 
system whose big corporations, companies and holding-control leaders can 
marginalize everything but their communication and data-circulation 
modalities. Every alternative is subordinated. That means we all are in 
a way forced to be stuck in a conservative approach that can be overcome 
easily using the knowledge and the cultural tools we have.
Despite their huge influence, those big holdings couldn't stop the 
development of technologies. The inevitable growing of new ideas on the 
spreading information process is going towards the increasing use of 
technological instruments that allow everyone to communicate in an ethic 
and democratic way.
Diametrically opposed to a techno-enthusiastic vision so typical in 
these days, Medieval Media wants to reflect and make people think about 
all the alternatives made possible by a critic and conscious use of new 
technologies.
